A luxury Airbnb for sale in Bradenton, Florida is injecting some bright pink into the local real estate market, and it’s catching the attention of homebuyers.
“It was fun to watch it happen. It just shares like crazy,” said listing agent Lacey Johnson, a Realtor with Fine Properties in Sarasota, on the state’s Gulf Coast south of Tampa.
1925 Mediterranean Revival style exterior. Inside, everything is pastel and flamingo.
The “fun house,” as it’s listed on Airbnb, rents for about $250-$340 a night, depending on the season. The quirky interiors include sumptuously decorated rooms that are ready-made backdrops for social media shots, including a flamingo-themed bedroom; bright tropical wallpaper; a rubber band machine, a record player and an arcade game, among other vintage touches.
Darline Martins, the owner, designer and real estate investor behind the colorful home, describes it as, “Eclectic, a hint of mid-century with a splash of Florida chic.”
More party-ready fun awaits in the backyard. The lawn with artificial turf is decorated with a gazebo with a swing and a place for grilling; decorative concrete patio with gas fire pit with semi-circular sitting area; there is a giant chess board and other yard games; and an above-ground pool and hot tub help complete the Florida vacation vibe.
The list was recently shared on the Facebook page titled “For the love of old houses”, where it received more than 4,700 reactions and 2,000 comments from lovers of unusual houses.
Many viewers were impressed by the bold design choice.
“Oh, so dreamy,” one person remarked. “Obsessed”. “The house of my DREAM”. “What a happy place!” others added.
“Oh my Blanche Devereaux!” another said, name-dropping the Golden Girls sitcom character who never shied away from flashy outfits and stayed in a tropical green and pink bedroom.
However, some were less ready to accept the unapologetically pink glow of the house.
“This is aggressive Florida,” said one commenter. “I couldn’t stay here … it would give me a headache,” quipped another. “Sounds like what I would imagine a psychedelic trip to be!” someone commented on the living room, which has soft pink walls and a floral ceiling.
Despite the skeptics, many gave the home designer props for being bold.
“This man has style and they’ve GOT IT,” said one Facebook user.
So, how much will it cost you to stay in bachelorette heaven every night and forever?
The seller is asking $609,000 for the 1,468-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom home located at 2520 11th Avenue West in West Bradenton on a 7,501-square-foot lot.
The listing by Fine Properties in Sarasota says it was recently renovated inside and out and comes complete with all new appliances, furniture, wall and window treatments — plus “epic decorations.”
If you do need to take a closer look, it’s not too late to stay the night. Reservations will remain available until 2023 in the house Airbnb page.
