Game preview Auburn vs Florida
Why Auburn wins
The crime is back.
Vanderbilt wasn’t going to beat Auburn, but that’s enough to be a problem. Auburn came out and hung 94 on the board with one of the best shooting games of the season, especially outside.
Florida tried to stick with the Tigers back in early January, but she failed to get in enough threes and hit the boards hard. Last in the SEC on rebounds in defense, Auburn should be able to make up for a few problems here and there by hitting hard on the attack glass.
The Gators can’t afford to give up their second chance points, and they won’t be able to pick up the slack in the offensive threes – it takes them away, but not so often.
Why Florida will win
The first game in Florida had a problem with a violation, but Auburn eventually gave up more free throws.
The Tigers can perfectly block shots, hit the glass and defend to hold on for a long time, but they come into the stadium with at least 15 fouls.
Florida can only reach 30% of the three, but she knows how to get on the line, and that’s good once she gets there. It may not be Gator’s most powerful team, but it should be able to attack and continue to go right into the Tiger’s interior.
What will happen
Auburn was way shaky lately on the road.
He lost to Arkansas in overtime and lost to Georgia and Missouri, scoring three points.
The shooting was there against Vanderbilt, but recently the crime was in a small rut. Florida should be able to keep the Tigers about 40% or less off the field, but it will have its own problems with scoring points.
