The coldest air we’ve seen since 2014 is heading into Middle Georgia along with gusty winds of up to 40 mph and a single digit cold.
It’s been talked about all week and a cold front is finally moving southeast.
At night, the atmospheric front will move to the territory of Central Georgia with small bays, gusty winds and strong cooling.
Temperatures will drop from the low 50s (around midnight) to the low 20s on Friday morning.
Winds will gust to 40 mph during the day, bringing wind chills in the single digits.
It will be windy and cold overnight, with lows in the low teens and wind chills as low as -5°.
Saturday morning’s low temperatures will rival some of the coldest conditions we’ve seen since 2014.
Please make sure you prepare your home for the cold weather and provide a warm place for your pets.
Temperatures will finally rise above freezing over Christmas with highs in the low 30s.
The warming trend will continue through most of next week, with high temperatures returning to the mid to upper 50s by midweek.
