One family’s holiday card was missing a photo of their elderly dog Murphy, but they quickly rectified the mistake with an adorable update, a video on social media shows.
“We forgot to include our older pug on this year’s holiday card,” Tina Haupert, certified nutrition coach and owner of fitness and nutrition company Carrots ‘N’ Cake, posted on Instagram and TikTok. “Family and friends noticed right away.”
The video shows screenshots of concerned messages from family members and friends.
“No Murphy?” “Is the pug okay?” “Who made the cards…” “What happened to Murphy?” – the reports say.
One report notes that the holiday card has a photo of the lizard being held by Haupert’s son, Quinn, but still no photo of Murphy.
“I can’t believe it was SCALES who made the holiday card and NOT Murphy,” the post read.
Haupert, who lives on the south shore of Massachusetts, made amends with her friends and followers by releasing a new holiday card featuring a close-up of Murphy’s face, according to her website. Haupert did not respond to a request for comment.
“I’m still here,” the card reads. “Happy holidays dear Murphy.”
The reverse side of the card explains the confusion.
“My folks forgot to include me in this year’s holiday card, but I assure you I’m alive and well,” the card reads. Pugs and kisses to you this holiday season!”
