Cold nights and mild days continue in northern Georgia until mid-week. The system, which will arrive on Thursday, will bring the first extensive rain in almost two weeks. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.

The weather on Wednesday can vary depending on where you live in northern Georgia. The east wind will bring a wedge of cool air to the east and northeast of Georgia. Expect mostly cloudy skies, light rains cannot be ruled out. High temperatures can range from as high as 40 degrees in northeastern Georgia to 70 degrees southwest of Atlanta. It will probably be from the low to the mid-60s in Atlanta.

On Thursday, especially in the evening, the probability of precipitation increases. It will be a relatively warm day with a maximum of 60 to almost 70 when the sun breaks through in the afternoon. Rains and thunderstorms will take place on Thursday night and will go around until dawn on Friday. The danger of severe weather is not very high, but we are watching.

Dry seasonal weather awaits most of the weekend on President’s Day. On Monday afternoon the rain may return.
