Harley-Davidson Sportster S dominates 24-hour endurance test, covering 3141 km

Harley-Davidson The Sportster S recently became the first motorcycle in the country to pass a 24-hour endurance test, covering 3,141 km. A team of five riders drove Harley-Davidson on a test track to the Global Center for Innovation and Technology Hero’s Global Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, where a record was set.

In a statement to the press, Harley-Davidson said the test run began at 3pm on Saturday when the team passed 31 pit stops. These included refueling breaks, a change of driver and a new tire change every 1,000 km. Each rider performed six races averaging 100 km on each. On the oval high-speed track 1.74 kilometers long, the team ran at a speed of about 130.9 km / h for the entire duration of 24 hours.

The Harley-Davidson Sportster S is equipped with a 121-horsepower Revolution Max 1250T V-Twin engine and became the clear choice for this record attempt. “This is a strong testament to the quality of this HD motorcycle, which has successfully passed the test and gone further than any other motorcycle in the country in 24 hours,” said Ravi Avalur, head of Harley-Davidson’s business unit. The five riders who took part in the 24-hour Harley-Davidson Sportster S endurance test included national riders such as Anushria Gulati and Vijay Singh. There were also Malo Le Mason and Vijay Thomas from Hero MotoCorp. The endurance test was supervised by two members of the Hero MotoCorp team at CIT, David Lopez Cordoba, head of chassis functional development and the national racing program, and Alex Busquets, head of vehicle inspection.

The iconic motorcycle claims that the 1.74-kilometer-long oval high-speed track was specially chosen to test the mileage to test the limits of endurance of both man and motorcycle. Interestingly, this comes after Harley-Davidson recently brought its Pan-America to the world’s highest unpaved highway.

Harley-Davidson Sportster S is equipped with a Revolution Max 1250T V-Twin engine with liquid cooling capacity of 121 hp. The motorcycle brand claims that this engine is tuned to generate huge torque at low revs, while the torque curve remains the same over the power range. The engine is also designed to provide strong acceleration from the start with reliable power in the mid-range, Harley claims.

The company offers a wide selection of accessories and different color options for this motorcycle. These include Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl and Midnight Crimson.

It gets several driving modes – Sport, Road and Rain. These modes electronically control the performance of the motorcycle and the level of intervention of the equipment. Two custom modes are offered that can be used by the rider to create a set of performance characteristics according to personal preferences or for special situations.

Harley-Davidson is equipped with improved driver safety in corners, which is a package of technologies designed to increase the driver’s confidence in unexpected situations or adverse road conditions.
