Riverdance brings its 25th anniversary tour to the Fox Theater Jan. 27-29

Tickets are on sale now for the Riverdance 25th Anniversary Tour at the Fox Theater January 27-29.

Regions Bank Broadway in Atlanta has announced that an Irish step dance and musical performance is being added as a special performance for the 2022-2023 season.

Performances are scheduled for Friday, January 27 at 8 p.m.; January 28, Saturday, at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, January 29 at 1:00 and 6:30 p.m

Billed as a “reimagining” of the multi-award-winning show, composer Bill Whelan re-recorded his soundtrack, while producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan reimagined the show with new lighting, video, stage and costume design.

The 25th anniversary tour was already underway in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the pause button. The tour resumed with a sold-out two-week run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC

“Riverdance” began as an interval performance at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest as a seven-minute dance piece. The audience response was so overwhelming that a full-length stage show was developed, which broke box office records around the world.
