CLAXTON, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating a fatal Christmas Day shooting in Claxton.
Marvin Smith, 31, of Hagan, Ga., was found shot to death in a yard in the 300 block of East James Street just after 12:30 a.m., officials said.
An Evans County Sheriff’s Office deputy heard gunfire in the area and responded to the scene, according to the GBI.
Officers and EMS treated Smith, but he died at the scene. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
No arrests have been made at this time, according to the GBI.
