The Savannah Humane Society has a silent overnight foster program for the holidays

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Some shelter dogs and cats will be celebrating the holiday season with local families.

The Savannah Humane Society hosts the annual Silent Night Adoption Program for the holidays, giving their pets a chance to get out of the shelter for a few days and into a loving home while they wait for their forever home.

“It’s really great because people get to experience the animal in their home and decide, well, it’s for me or it’s not for me, and then we find that a lot of good adoptions come out of that.” said Stephanie Green, foster coordinator for the Humane Society of Greater Savannah.

More than a dozen pets are scheduled to participate, and all will leave the shelter no later than today and will be returned to the shelter on December 27th.

Those who want to help save a life by providing a temporary, loving and peaceful place for animals in need throughout the year can contact the Savannah Humane Society Foster Care Coordinator at foster@humanesocietysav.org.

They will provide everything necessary, food and medical care, so that the adoptive families do not require expenses.
