LAS VEGAS, NM (KRQE) – Now we see what led to it state police fired on I-25 three weeks ago causing the driver to be injured. The video shows chaos when the driver tried to chase the police in a car that simply did not cooperate.
The hard end of the 15-minute slow-speed chase ended in a suspected shot to the hip and a wounded man. State police have been harassing a driver who refused to stop after passing a stop sign near Las Vegas last month. The chase slowed down quickly due to car problems.
The transmission on the Lexus may not have provided the opportunity, but the driver did not give up, heading for the I-25, Lexus struggled to get over the hills. The chase then makes a few dangerous turns when the driver, Paul Mares, makes a U-turn on average, heads back through the middle section on oncoming traffic, almost missing a pause, and decides to head back in the right direction.
The police decided they had watched enough and tried again and again to stop him, but he still kept going. What Mares did not know: his reckless rotation remained less than a minute before the terrible end.
As a result, the police can finally understand who they were chasing. The Mares has two passengers. They told police they asked him to stop and release them, but Mares just didn’t know when to throw.
The officer who joined the chase is now finishing it. The mare would have lived to regret his decisions that evening.
Mares was issued arrest warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges. He now faces a long list of charges of chasing and colluding with an officer’s SUV. In the history of the 43-year-old boy was detained drugs, burglary and car theft.
