A trailer and chicken coop were heavily damaged in a fire in northwest Hall County Monday evening.
Kimberly Ledinger of Hall County Fire-Rescue said crews were called to the fire on Gillespie Road north of Price Road around 7 p.m. When they arrived, they found both buildings about 70 percent engulfed in flames.
Ledsinger said all occupants of the home have been located and no one was injured. Apparently, the chicken coop was abandoned, there were no people or animals in it at the time of the fire.
The flames also spread to several nearby buildings, and it took firefighters more than three hours to extinguish the flames due to the lack of hydrants in the area. Firefighters had to deliver water to the property to tackle the blaze.
The bulk of the fire was reportedly under control by 9:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
