After a cold weekend, the last week of 2022 will see sunshine and a slow rise in temperatures.
We saw clear skies and sunshine that helped much of Middle Georgia warm into the 40s this afternoon after a chilly weekend.
Overnight, there is a chance of flurries in parts of Middle Georgia, but accumulation is unlikely.
The rest of us will see an increase in cloud cover that dissipates by Tuesday morning.
Tuesday will see sunshine throughout the day and temperatures will warm back into the low 50s.
High pressure will persist for most of the week, with Thursday being dry and sunny.
Highs will slowly warm each day and reach the mid 60s by Thursday.
We begin to see a change in the picture on Friday as clouds and rain return to the region.
A chance of small thunderstorms on Friday.
Rain will pass overnight and during the day on Saturday.
A few strong storms are possible, but that’s in question at this point.
Even so, heavy rain is possible with this system.
Right now, it looks like most of the rain will be over before most people head out to celebrate the New Year.
Temperatures will be above normal over the weekend, even if rain continues.
A little rain is possible on Sunday, but most of us will be dry by Monday.
