19-year-old Marietta man may have been racing ahead of Sunday’s fatal crash | News

COBB County, Georgia (CBS46) – A 19-year-old boy died after his car crashed into another car near South Cob Drive and Cob Parkway on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, Edwin Gutierrez of Marietta was driving east on South Cobb when he lost control of his Honda Prelude during turn negotiations.

When the car turned around, it drove into the west lane and crashed into the front of a 2020 Ford Explorer.

Gutierrez was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The second driver with minor injuries was treated on the spot.

Investigators believe Gutierrez was driving another car when he lost control. Anyone with information is asked to call 77-499-3987.
