EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC / WMGT) – According to Governor Brian Kemp, Dodge County will create about 200 new jobs.
A press release from Kemp’s office says the Georgia-based Outdoor Recycled Furniture Company will expand in Dodge County as they celebrate their first anniversary. This company is called SoPoly, and they have already started hiring for new positions and plan to invest $ 5 million in their Eastman operations because of the demand for their outdoor furniture products.
SoPoly offers a variety of outdoor furniture, ranging from Adirondack chairs, sun loungers, dining sets and more. These 100% recycled plastic products are available for direct purchase online as well as through outdoor furniture retailers in the southeastern United States, Canada and the Caribbean. SoPoly currently employs 30 people at a 70,000-square-foot facility in Eastman, but they will soon be hiring for positions in the extrusion, routing and assembly departments.
Governor Kemp said of the expansion: “SoPoly’s rapid expansion is a testament to the Georgian people and an impressive reminder of all the growth opportunities available in Georgia’s countryside,” and “We have focused on supporting high-quality rural jobs, and I congratulate SoPoly and the Eastman community with the development of a project that will have a positive effect in the long run for hard-working Georgians in Dodge County. ”
