A man died in a production accident at the Blount Island warehouse, police said

Jacksonville, Florida – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Friday afternoon that a man had died in an accident at work on Blunt Island.

According to the sergeant. At about 2 p.m., police from the Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene. Rudlaff said the loader was moving about 500 pounds of paper product.

Some of the product fell from the pallet, hitting the man in the head.

The man died of his injuries. He was not recognized. The loader operator was said to be cooperating with investigators.

The JSO and the Office of Occupational Safety and Health conducted an investigation. We are told that while the warehouse is owned by JaxPort, the building is being leased to a private company.
