A man from Texas has returned from work and found his wife stabbed in a house in Houston, and now her 16-year-old grandson is in custody, police said.

Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home in north Houston on Wednesday, Feb. 23 to find 64-year-old Delia Arriaga dead, with obvious stab wounds, said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Ariagi her husband found her “Bloody and irresponsible” on the floor, MPs told KPRC.

While there was a “mess” inside the house, according to KTRK, there were no signs of violent intrusion, which makes the investigation suspect Ariaga’s killer was no stranger.

A few days later, on February 26, the sheriff’s office announced that Arriagi’s grandson had been taken into custody on murder charges, and evidence at the scene linked him to the murder of his grandmotherreports publications.

Investigators are not saying what could have led to the teen’s fatal attack.
