Aiken man accused of murder in connection with the shooting at McDonald’s in 2021

AIKEN, SC (WJBF) – A man from Aiken has been charged with murder in connection with the 2021 shooting at McDonald’s on York Street in Aiken, South Carolina.

Aiken’s public security investigators say 18-year-old Caleb Johnson is currently behind bars in the Aiken County Detention Center and is charged with murder and possession of a firearm while committing a violent crime.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on December 3, 2021 at about 7 p.m.

Investigators say they responded to the shooting at McDonald’s on York Street, and when they arrived, they found the victim, 16-year-old Taj Nance-Parker, with a gunshot wound.

Authorities say Parker was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
