Production began in Tasmania, Australia on «Deadlock”, A comedy noir that will Amazon original series.

The story takes place in the once sleepy seaside village of Deadlock and begins after a human corpse is found on the beach. Two female detectives gather together to solve the case, one picky, the other more rude and ready from another city. Together with a very impatient junior, they must join forces to solve this problem while the city hosts the annual festival of crafts, culture and cuisine.

The eight-part show was conceived by a comedy duo Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan and will play Kate Boxing (“Fires”, “Wentworth”), Madeleine Sami (“The Breaker Upperers”), Alicia Gardiner (“Wakefield”) and Nina Oyama (“Utopia”), as well as the cast.

“Deadlock” will be directed by Australian directors Ben Chasell (“Big”, “Gears / Haji”), Gracie Otto (“Moth Effect”, “Seriously Red”) and Beck Cole (“Black”) from February to May.
