Jacksonville, Florida – On Monday, the office of Sheriff Jacksonville said that a man was arrested as a result of the death of an 18-year-old teenager.
According to police, 19-year-old Jeffrey Antion Edwards is charged with murder.
On January 7, police said the body was found along the Trout River. Family members confirmed that the body was Santeria Williams, a high school senior at Ribeau High School who just turned 18 in November.
Family members described her as a loving person which would have gone out of its way for others.
Her mother told the JSO that Williams went to bed at her home in the Calloway Cove apartment around 9pm on Jan. 4, and when her mother woke up the next morning, Williams was not. according to a missing person report.

The mother spoke on the phone with a friend of Williams, who said he was hanging out with friends and all was well, the report said. The mother continued to call Williams, but all calls were routed to voicemail, the report said.
Detectives said Monday that they had identified Edwards as a suspect and arrested him.
According to Duvall County Jail documents, Edwards was arrested Jan. 12 on charges of attempted murder and armed robbery, and a charge of murder was added Monday.
The next trial is on Thursday.
