Hall County authorities released the name of the man who was found dead Thursday afternoon fire in an apartment in Lula on February 19.

Anthony Cavanaugh Murphy, 68, lived in a studio apartment attached to a barn on the property in the 8800 block of Forrester Road, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators notified Murphy’s next of kin.

Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the fire on Feb. 19, finding Murphy’s body while inspecting the building.

Crews were called to an apartment fire while they were battling a fire at a home about a mile away in the same area.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death. Autopsy results are pending, and the cause of death has not been determined.

The fire is under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
