WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden abruptly canceled plans Sunday to travel to his home in Delaware for the holiday after a four-hour meeting of his national security team to discuss Russia’s threat to Ukraine.

The trip home was the last minute of the addition to the president’s schedule, announced Sunday at 2:41 p.m. However, a little over an hour later it was canceled.

It is unusual that the plans of the President of the United States will soon change this, especially the plans to leave Washington.

According to the White House, the president “had a family problem that prompted him to come to Wilmington, Department of State tonight, but he will no longer go and will remain in Washington, DC today.”

Biden’s schedule and his engagement with the national security team gained a new sense of urgency this weekend after the president said he trusted Russia’s president Vladimir Putin it was decided to attack Ukraine “in the coming days».

“We have reason to believe that Russian forces are planning and intend to attack Ukraine in the coming week, in the coming days,” Biden said in an official address to the nation on Friday, his second in a week. “We believe they will target the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, a city of 2.8 million innocent people.”

Disclosure of such information about enemy combat plans is very unusual, and Biden’s forecast has caused shock around the world. Russia currently has 190,000 troops deployed on Ukraine’s northern and eastern borders – nearly half the country’s military.
