CCH Pounder Joins Steven Soderbergh’s HBO Max Series Full Circle

CCH Funder joined the cast of the future HBO Max limited edition”Full circle“, Diversity learned

Pounder is the latest addition to the cast, joining previously announced stars Zazie Beetz, Dennis Quaid, Claire Danes, Timothy Olyphant, Jarrell Jerome and Shaye Cole.

According to the official description for the six-episode series, “an investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers long-standing secrets that connect many characters and cultures in modern-day New York.”

Pounder is best known for her role as Claudette Weems on FX’s groundbreaking cop drama The Shield. She received an Emmy nomination for her work on the show in 2005. Pounder also received Emmy nominations for her roles on The Secret Materials, ER, and The No. 1 Women’s Detective Agency. She also recently starred in the CBS series NCIS: New Orleans for seven seasons. On the film side, she played Mo’at in James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar, a role she will reprise in the sequel Avatar: The Path of Water.

She is represented by Mitchell K. Stubbs & Associates.

Diversity exclusively reported that Full Circle has been ordered to series in August 2021. Soderbergh will direct and executive produce all six episodes, while Solomon will write and executive produce. Casey Silver will also executive produce. They previously worked together on HBO Max’s No Sudden Movement.

It was announced in January 2020 Soderbergh signed a multi-year deal with HBO and HBO Max, which will allow it to develop TV series on both platforms, with the deal also including a first-look deal for movies. He previously directed Let Them All Talk and Kimi for the streamer in addition to No Sudden Move. He is also the executive producer of the HBO Max unscripted series The Real Magic Mike.
