Eric Weddle solidifies his legacy with a Super Cup title in a Rams victory

ENGLAND, CA – As was the case most of the season – with stars such as Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey – the Los Angeles Rams defense found a way to close their opponent when it was most important at Sunday’s 2022 Super Bowl.

So they delivered the Super Cup rings to three former Utah players, including Eric Weddle.

13-year-old veteran Weddle, who retired two years ago and signed with Rams immediately after the end of the regular season, spent five selections in Rams ’win over Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium with a score of 23-20.

This included four solo stops for Weddle, a 37-year-old who was the team’s defensive signal on Sunday.

He helped name the game’s plan, which included that the Rams completed seven bags of Cincinnati defender Joe Burrow, which helped Los Angeles come out of seven falls early in the third quarter after the Bengals scored 17 points in a row.

Former Utah kicker Matt Gay also won the Super Cup ring with Los Angeles, scoring two extra points and scoring a 41-yard goal in the third quarter, reducing the Rams deficit to 20-16.

Former Utah pro Terrell Burgess, a sophomore, also won the title with Los Angeles, while former Utah defender Jalen Davis was at a loss in Cincinnati.
