Executive producer of “It’s Us” Kay Oyegan is making an ABC pilot order

Alphabet ordered a drama pilot from Kay Oyegun.

In a one-hour untitled series, five therapists from Philadelphia find unique ways to solve problems in their patients ’lives by battling their own. In Ellen Roman, a practice owner and brilliant therapist, her life was shockingly turned upside down when she began working with a sociopathic patient who may hold the key to her sister’s disappearance five years ago.

Oyegun will be the screenwriter and executive producer of the pilot film. 20th Television will act as the studio, and Oyegun is currently under a general deal at the studio.

Oyegan is best known for his work on the NBC hit series “It’s Us.” She began participating in the show as a full-time writer in her first season. She has since gone on to become an executive producer, and is credited with writing eleven episodes of the series. She also filmed three episodes, the most recent of which filmed an episode of “One Giant Leap” in the current and final sixth season of the show. She also filmed episodes of “People’s Mother” and “Brotherly Love” in season 5, writing the script for the previous episode. Among her other television works – recognized by critics OWN series “Queen Sugar”.

As for the film, Oyegun recently adapted the musical drama “On the Come Up” for the screen. The book comes from the author of “The Hate You Give” Angie Thomas. Oyegun also recently sold the comedy film “Help to Live” Paramount with Cardi B attached to the star.
