Jacksonville, Florida – Drivers heading across the Buckman Bridge from Orange Park to Mandarin were met with serious spare parts on Saturday as several lanes were closed to crews working on routine construction work.
The Florida Department of Transportation said the closure of several lanes on Western Railroad I-295 across Buckman Bridge will last from Friday night to Monday morning as crews rehabilitate and improve parts of the bridge.
The work is being carried out as part of a security project and signs on Buckman Bridge, the department said.
Three inland lanes I-295 to the south will be closed from 8pm Friday to 4am Monday.
Closures are needed for the safety of both construction crews and drivers, the FDOT said.
An additional closure of three lanes is expected for these works this weekend.
Motorists traveling on I-295 and nearby should expect delays and plan ahead.
