Verstappen could have claimed his second consecutive world title in Singapore, but a poor race after failing to qualify left him in last place. He recovered to finish seventh.

Reigning Red Bull champion Verstappen scored six points at Marina Bay compared to FerrariLeclerc, who scored 18 points. The lead in the world championship was reduced to 104 points.

Leclerc is now just two points ahead of Verstappen’s team-mate Perez, who took his second win of the season in Singapore.

Peres is now 32 years old MercedesGeorge Russellwho suffered a disastrous race and did not score.

Carlos SainzHe is just one point behind Russell on the podium. Lewis Hamilton now trails Russell by 32 points.

Who are the leading constructors in F1 2022?

In the constructors’ standings, Red Bull’s 31 points eclipsed Ferrari’s 33 thanks to their first double podium since Miami. Red Bull now leads Ferrari by 137.

Mercedes lost a whopping 31 points to Ferrari thanks to their worst result of the season and the gap was 66.

McLaren captured the fourth from alpine in Singapore when the French marque suffered a double retirement. With five races to go, McLaren has 22 points, taking four points.

It was also a huge race for Aston Martin, who jumped from ninth to seventh thanks to a 12-point lead – ahead of Haas and Alpha Tauri (the only other team to check in with one point).
