The chilly fall weather means spending money on coffee and oversized sweaters. And that’s actually perfect because those are two things you need when you’re braving the elements and watching your favorite college football team in person.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh should be content to keep the naysayers at bay for now. As we assess Michigan’s season, Harbaugh & Co. has nothing to worry about.

Michigan has outscored opponents 166-17 this season, including 103-0 in the first half. In fact, the Wolverines are the only Power 5 team not to score a single point in the first half. Big Blue also leads the FBS in scoring offense with 55.3 points per game, and they rank fourth in scoring defense.

Michigan wins games and gets names. But this weekend, the Wolverines will face a Maryland team that, like them, is a perfect 3-0. Should the 16-point favorite Wolverines fear the Terrapins?

Well, to their credit, the Terps aren’t some scrubs. They are one of three FBS teams averaging 8.14 yards per game. Maryland is one of five schools to average 40 or more points per game in the Big Ten.

While we give credit to Maryland for going undefeated in Week 4, the price stops at the Terps’ Big House.

Forecast:
Michigan is 14-17

No. 5 Clemson @ No. 21 Wake Forest (12 p.m. ET Saturday, ABC)

This game is another matchup between two undefeated teams. This is what football dreams are made of.

Clemson leads the all-time series 69-17-1. And since 2015, the Tigers are 28-2 in September games. Go forward and give the sign of Earth, Wind and Fire.

Additionally, the Tigers’ nine-game hitting streak is the longest in the nation. What another win for 7-point favorite? Might as well keep adding to the tally if you’re Clemson.

With all that said, is there any reason for Wake Forest to show up on Saturday?

Well, the Demon Deacons also have a pretty impressive September record. Since 2016, they are 20-5 for the month. But we saw the real Wake Forest last week when they narrowly won Freedom 37-36.

Sure, the Wildcats won’t lose, but how much can a fan or bettor put on Wake Forest if the team beat the Liberty by one point?

That’s the Tigers for us.

Forecast:
Clemson by 7-9 points

No. 20 Florida @ #11 Tennessee (3:30 p.m. ET Saturday, CBS)

Neyland Stadium is one of the toughest places to play in college football. Saturday at Neyland for a good game? This place is packed with 101,000 people, easy. And it’s loud. And it scares. So mark this as the Gators’ first big disadvantage as they head to Tennessee to take on the Vols.

Also, is Florida a legitimate top 25 team? The team has already lost one game Kentucky and almost lost USF last week. As for the Gator defense, though, they’ve already had a grueling schedule and it’s only Week 4. Florida is one of two teams in the country to face three AP top-25 opponents in the first four weeks of the season.

This is a mouthful.

When it comes to Florida-Tennessee, the Gators have owned the series lately. Florida has won 16 of the last 17 meetings, including each of the last four by at least 12 points. Rocky Top last won in 2016, 38-28 at Neyland.

With coach Josh Heupel at the helm, the Vols crushed opponents in the first quarters of games. Under Heupel, Tennessee outscored teams 228-61 in the first quarter. And that includes 190-51 in 2021 and 38-10 this season. We expect to see more of that this weekend.

U Bet FOXThe Vols are favored at 10.5, but we think this SEC East matchup will be a close one.

Forecast:
Tennessee is 4-6

No. 10 Arkansas @ No. 23 Texas A&M (7 p.m. ET, Saturday, ESPN)

Another SEC battle, but this time on the west side – some would argue the better side is the conference.

The Razorbacks lead the series all-time 42-33-3, including a 20-10 win in 2021. Before that, however, Texas A&M had won nine in a row against Arkansas.

Here’s something special to note about the Razorbacks. They lead the nation in sacks this season with 17. Arkansas has also picked off 28 passes since the start of the 2020 season. That’s good for second in the SEC.

Let’s also give Agi their flowers. They are one of three SEC teams to score every time they touch the red zone this season. This is no easy feat. Credits in the red zone are difficult.

A&M, on the other hand, is averaging just 52.3 offensive plays per game. That’s the fewest plays per game of any FBS team. In fact, Texas A&M is the only FBS team to average fewer than 55 plays per game.

Since they already have one loss Appalachian Stateany College Football Playoff hopes would effectively end if the Aggies dropped another game.

Texas A&M will leave it all on the field Saturday night, but underdog Arkansas will just be too tough.

Arkansas by 4-6 points

Wisconsin @ No. 3 Ohio State (7:30 p.m. ET Saturday, ABC)

The last time these two met was in the Big Ten Championship Game in 2019, with Ohio State winning 34-21.

Ohio State leads the all-time series 61-18-5.

Ohio State has won eight straight.

Are you sensing a theme here?

This game is make or break for us Buckeyes. They are No. 3 in the country for a reason. And while they may face some tough teams on their way back to the College Football Playoff, Wisconsin won’t be one of them.

In 41 games under coach Ryan Day, Ohio State has scored 30 or more points 33 times. The Buckeyes’ record in those games? 33-0.

Since 2017, quarterbacks coached by Ryan Day have thrown for 300 or more yards 40 times. These are connections Alabama the highest record for this period. The Buckeyes had 77 points and 763 yards of offense last week Toledo. Remember, we told you they were going to put up a basketball score. And they’ll do it again this weekend against the Badgers.

Ohio State 18 to 21

Kansas State @ No. 6 Oklahoma (8 p.m. ET, Saturday, FOX)

Here’s a fun fact: In eight of the last 11 meetings, the visiting team in the OU-Kansas series has won. If you’re a Boomer Sooner, maybe it’s not as much fun. But it is interesting.

K-State likes to rock. So much so that they rank 12th in the nation and second in the Big 12 with an average of 239.3 rushing yards per game. State also ranks third in the Big 12 in fewest penalty yards per game with an average of 41.7 through three weeks this season.

All of that is great for the state, but Oklahoma is great favors 12.5 for a reason.

The Sooners’ defense leads the nation with 32 tackles for loss, 14th nationally, while allowing an average of 10 points per game. They’ve scored on 11 of 12 trips into the red zone, and Oklahoma is one of 16 teams that hasn’t thrown an interception this year.

The Sooners have scored at least 33 points per game this year, including a whopping 49 against Nebraska last week.

In this new look, a year since then Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams rushed for USCOU hasn’t slipped yet.
