Governor Kemp calls invasion of Ukraine “unprotected”, condemns aggression

ATLANTA (WTXL) – In a series of tweets on Thursday morning, Georgian Governor Brian Kemp has spoken out against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began late Wednesday night.

“As Putin and the Russian military violate Ukraine’s sovereignty through this soulless, unprotected invasion, we stand with our allies and condemn this tyrannical aggression,” Governor Kemp tweeted.

Governor Kemp added that he prays for a speedy end to the conflict and remembers how it could affect the military and the Georgian military, which are on high alert.

The attack began before dawn with explosions in the capital Kiev and other cities.

The Ukrainian leadership has said that at least 40 people have been killed so far in a “full-scale war” targeting the country from the east, north and south.
