A 16-year-old male was found dead Wednesday afternoon in Lawrenceville from an apparent gunshot wound.

At approximately 1:05 p.m., Gwinnett County officers responded to a missing persons call at 651 Paden Mill Trail. While inspecting the area, they found a 16-year-old boy who died from a gunshot wound behind the house.

Gwinnett police homicide detectives are reportedly on the scene interviewing witnesses. An evidence processing unit is also in the area, according to the release. There are currently no suspects and a motive remains unclear.
