Boynton Beach, Florida. – The sister of the fraudster from Wall Street Bernie Madoff and her husband were found dead as a result of, according to investigators, a suicide in Florida, according to news.
On Sunday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified the couple as 87-year-old Sondra Wiener of Boynton Beach and her 90-year-old husband Marvin. On Thursday afternoon, they were found unanswered with gunshot wounds at their residence.
“The operatives of the Department for Combating Violent Crimes arrived on the scene for further investigation. After further investigation, it appears to have been a homicide / suicide, ”the sheriff’s statement said.
Officials said the cause of death would be determined by a forensic expert.
The woman, who called herself the wife of David Wiener’s son, asked for privacy “in this time of sorrow.”
Contacting by phone, she said: “Currently we are not giving any comments.”
Madoff was notorious for organizing a large-scale Ponzi scheme that destroyed the wealth of the people and destroyed charities. He was sentenced to 150 years in prison after pleading guilty in 2009 to fraud and other charges, and died in prison at the age of 82 last year.
