KTM will distribute MV Agusta motorcycles in North America

It will soon be easier to find MV Augusta dealer in USA, Canada and Mexico. Pierer Mobility AG’s subsidiary, KTM AG, has entered into a deal with MV Agusta to sell, promote and service MV Agusta through KTM AG’s separate North American entity. KTM AG is currently processing KTM, Husqvarnaand GasGas brands in North America. This is not the first time that MV Agusta and Husqvarna motorcycles share the same interior. In 1987, Husqvarna was acquired from Electrolux by Cagiva and placed under the MV Agusta Motor umbrella, remaining there until BMW acquired Husqvarna in 2007. Six years later Pierre Industrie the investment company that owned KTM bought Husqvarna.“I am delighted with this agreement between two historic European motorcycle manufacturers,” said MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov. “I am confident that KTM’s extensive and professional sales organization, combined with the strong appeal of our brand in the region, will be of great benefit to both companies. Through our collaboration, we will create synergies that will allow us to accelerate our growth strategy in North America.” “We are very pleased to start a new partnership with such a historic motorcycle brand,” said Hubert Trunkenpolz, member of the executive board of KTM AG. “Our brands are getting stronger globally, especially in North America, where we will exceed 100,000 sales of KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motorcycles in 2022. The distribution of the MV Agusta brand will complement our extensive range of premium motorcycles. With the addition of Italy’s most iconic luxury motorcycle brand to our North American KTM operations, we are able to provide support to all North American motorcycle enthusiasts and open up exciting new business opportunities for existing and new dealers.” Agusta to the off-road-focused Austrian brands will give KTM AG dealers a more balanced mix of bikes on their showroom floors. The two brands go well together, with limited direct competition between the models. MV Agusta dealers outside the KTM AG network will remain.
