MACON, Georgia (41NBC / WMGT) – A new plant-based demonstration program begins in Macon on Tuesday, February 22nd.
Macon Beets is working with the Macon Volunteer Clinic and the Central Georgia Rescue Mission to conduct a 10-day exciting diet program.
40 residents of the rescue mission will take part in learning how to cook and eat healthier food.
A blood test was taken before the start of the program and will be passed after it to see how eating a plant-based diet affects health.
We spoke to a resident who will participate in the program. Rodney Jordan has been on a rescue mission since September.
“I’m very excited about this because I need something to motivate me to go on a diet and lose weight because I have health issues,” Jordan said. “So this right here will motivate me to do what I need to.”
Participants will receive three meals a day.
