Old Glory DC continues to search for the first win of the 2022 Premier League rugby season when Saturday hosts Toronto Arrows at Segra Field. It’s a competition they haven’t won before, missing both matches between the two sides during the 2021 campaign.
It was a challenging start to the season for DC fans. Old Glory is averaging 51 points per game after three defeats, which to date is the worst score in the MLR. In attack, they looked more powerful against the Free Jacks, but until this team shows some determination in defense, it is difficult to consider them a serious threat to anyone.
Andrew Douglas made only two changes towards the run. Jake Ilnitsky falls on the bench, and Kyle Stewart enters the restraint. Luke Campbell starts in the back flank with the Bailey House among the reserves. Junior Sau returns after injury to find a place on the match list.
The “shots” prevented the third defeat in a row with the smallest advantage in New Orleans. Although the score was not one that could be described as convincing, they will be confident in the outcome and will view the DC side fighting as another winning road game.
Ueta Tufuga wears a №13 T-shirt in the only change in the starting lineup. Mitch Richardson joins Chris Bell as the only reserve on the bench, where James O’Neill and Ronan Foley offer free cover ahead. Marc-Antoine Welle is appearing as a backup for the first time this season.
On paper, it seems that the “Shot” has a stronger front package. They also gain an advantage in form and historical results. Old Glory has a dynamic back line and an advantage on the home field. DC should be able to at least keep this game close, but the visitors should be considered the favorites to win.
The start is scheduled for 4pm local time, 1pm Pacific time. The local broadcast will be available on NBC Sports Washington, and TSN will broadcast the game on its digital channels to Canadian viewers. The rugby network will be broadcast to those throughout the United States or abroad.
