LOS ANGELES – Samuel L. Jackson along with Prince Harry and Megan – some of the people who will be recognized at NAACP Image Awards.
Netflix comes in with the top 52 nominationsled by the film “The harder they fall” at the 53rd Annual Awards Ceremony, which will be broadcast Saturday at 8pm on Eastern BET. Jackson will receive the Chairman’s Award. Prince Harry and Megan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be awarded the President’s Prize.

Anthony Anderson returns as the host of the awards, which highlights the works of artists, writers, activists and color athletes. Nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. will also perform at the ceremony. Blige, who was co-headliner on the Super Bowl show this month.
During this week, the organization has presented numerous awards to artists such as Jasmine Sullivan for outstanding actress, Isa Ray for outstanding literacy in a comedy series and Will Smith for outstanding literary work.
“The Harder They Fall” – starring a large star cast including Regina King, Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba and Lakita Stanfield – entered 12 nominations, including Best Picture. The film, produced by Jay-Z, is based on real black historical figures from the Old West who tend to go unnoticed in the genre.
Isa Ray’s film “Dangerous” received 13 nominations, including for best comedy series. “Harlem”, “Black”, “Run the World” and “Abshow” are also competing for the best comedy series.

HER received the most nominations in the music recording categories out of six, including Best Artist and a great album for “Back of My Mind”. In the album category, she will compete with “An Evening with Silk Sonic” by Silk Sonic, “Certified Lover Boy” by Drake, “Heaux Tales” by Jasmine Sullivan and “When It’s All Said and Done… Take Time” by Giveon.
Regina King will compete for Artist of the Year with Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Hudson and Tiffany Hadish.
In addition to the films “The Harder They Fall”, the nominees for Best Picture were “King Richard”, “Respect”, “United States vs. Billy Holiday” and “Judas and the Black Messiah”.
Stanfield can come out with two acting trophies. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in “Judas and the Black Messiah” and for his support in “The Harder They Fall.”
Majors, Denzel Washington, Mahershala Ali and Will Smith are also vying for the best male role.

Nominees for Best Actress in the film were Andra Day, Holly Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Tessa Thompson and Zendaya.
WarnerMedia has 55 nominations across multiple organizations. The entertainment conglomerate received nominations mostly from Warner Bros. Pictures, HBO and OWN.
