Ferrari in three days of running on the Barcelona-Catalonia track ran more than any other team, and Sainz topped the charts with 236 laps.
But Science stressed that these were “very early days” for Ferrari with the new F1-75 car, making it difficult to have a firm firm understanding of how it will look against its competitors.
“I can imagine why you guys are starting to draw conclusions and maybe try to put things in order,” Science said.
“But for us we really have no idea and I think no one has any idea what kind of fuel it loads [and] which engine modes all work.
“So we can’t confirm or deny that we are happy or sad because we don’t really know where we are.
“I think so [in] Bahrain may find it a little easier to guess where everyone is. ”

Ferrari has failed to win the race in either of the last two seasons, which was the longest drought since 1992-1993.
But the team has benefited from the extra time spent in the wind tunnel compared to such as Mercedes and Red Bull, thanks to a poor finish in the 2020 Designers Championship. She also decided to suspend the development of her car in 2021, ensuring that it can fully focus on the new rules for 2022.
Mercedes and Red Bull are expected to bring a number of upgrades to their cars at the second test in Bahrain, which will begin on March 10.
One of the big challenges for all the teams in the first test was to get to the top of the seabirds that appeared during the first long runs of 2022 cars that use the earth effect to produce downforce.
This caused a number of reliability issues that arose during the tests, but Science said Ferrari was “very happy and proud” of the mileage it achieved.
“Now it’s time to work not only on mileage, but also on improving the formation of pigs, and if the car is reliable with it, which, of course, is difficult to do,” said Science.
“We will continue to work on this and we will see if we can improve.”
