No one was injured in the fire at Buford’s home

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call about a house fire in Buford Friday night that damaged a shed and parts of the home.

At approximately 5:49 p.m., Gwinnett County firefighters received a call to the 2000 block of Appling Circle NE in Buford. A minor who lived in the house behind the house that was on fire called. Reports from the operator during the call said explosions and noises could be heard in the background.

Crews that arrived at 5:54 p.m. discovered a fire in the canopy of a one-story house. They deployed hoses and connected to a water source located across the street from the burning house. After inspecting the house, it was found that everyone had escaped. At 6:09 p.m., the fire was extinguished

There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The owner of the house soon arrived on the scene and confirmed that the house was empty at the time of the fire. He stated that the house is an ongoing project and has been vacant for several weeks.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
