Prince William and Princess Kate reportedly won’t trust Meghan and Harry until they ‘acknowledge the hurt’ caused by their Oprah Winfrey interview

Although Prince William and Princess Kate have put on a united front with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following the death of Queen Elizabeth II earlier this month, sources say the two couples are still at loggerheads because the future king and his wife can not find the strength to trust the members of the royal family in the United States. Harry and Meghan joined William and Kate for a walk in Windsor as they thanked locals for their well-wishes and beautiful tributes to Her Majesty, who died on September 8.

But fans shouldn’t get carried away thinking that means all is well between the two, because word of mouth TelegraphWilliam and Kate are still angry about Harry and Meghan’s scandalous interview Oprah Winfrey last year. To top it all off, the pair, who have already flown back to Los Angeles, have reportedly signed a $100 million deal to create original content for Netflix, followed by a three-year, $18 million deal with Spotify to create their own podcast, Archetypes.

However, for the most part, sources say that William and Kate are more concerned about the allegations against the royal family in Winfrey’s interview, which claimed that someone at the firm had doubts about the darkness of Meghan and Harry’s son, Archie, before his birth. Meghan also claimed that Kate reduced her to tears after an argument over specific bridesmaid details at the actress’ 2018 Suits wedding. The royals living in the UK reportedly want Meghan and Harry to admit their wrongdoing before restoring any trust.

“[William and Catherine] feel it [the Oprah interview] crossed a line and someone needs to acknowledge the motives behind it and the pain he caused,” the insider explained. “They feel they need to be firm to make it clear that you can’t just say these extremely upsetting things without consequences.”

“It’s really hard to spend time with someone or even talk openly when you know they’re writing a book about you and giving an interview. Now there is no trust.”

As the source mentioned, Harry has written a memoir, which was originally planned to be released before the end of the year. But with the Queen’s death, there is a chance that the announcement will be delayed due to concerns that Harry could shed light on private family matters that neither William nor Kate would want the public to know about.

William, in particular, has become uncomfortable with his brother’s behavior in recent years, starting with him deciding to quit his job as a royal senior to leave the UK and move permanently to Los Angeles, where he and Meghan have made a new life for themselves. And while all seemed well when the pair teamed up for the Queen’s funeral, their relationship is far from amicable, and only time will tell if the relationship can be mended.
