«Saturday night live“Paid tribute to Ukraine in its cold opening, performing a folk choir singing the traditional anthem of the Eastern European nation that entered the battle, while a group of candles wrote” Kiev. “
The 13th episode of the 47th season of the main night opened with stars Kate McKinnon and Sicily Strong, who introduced members of the Ukrainian choir “Thought” from New York. A group of singers dressed in intricate traditional costumes sang an exciting choral selection of “Prayer for Ukraine”, reflecting the resilient spirit of the nation, which has been under attack from Russia since early this week on various fronts.
Candles and bouquets of yellow flowers reminiscent of the national colors of Ukraine – yellow and blue – were found on the SNL stage in a gloomy atmosphere. After the song ended, McKinnon and Strong returned to perform with the opening of “Live Broadcast from New York, It’s Saturday Night,” while the camera zoomed in on a group of candles that read “Kiev,” the Ukrainian capital.
