Take the official survey of city social services

West Hollywood has a deep and long-standing commitment to providing social services and resources to community members in need and improving the quality of life. Each year, the city of West Hollywood invests about $ 5 million to fund social services through contracts with local nonprofits to support programs that affect thousands of people.

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve social services and increase accessibility, the city encourages community members to participate in its 2022 survey to assess society’s needs for social services. The survey is conducted in partnership with the Maroon Society, which aims to develop the public good and provides qualitative and quantitative research.

Community members who live, work, own property, attend school, or spend a significant amount of time homeless in West Hollywood are eligible to participate in urban social services programs, and these community members are invited to take a three-minute survey available atEnglishby visitingw.eho.city/needsEng.A poll is also available atSpanishonhttps://w.eho.city/needsSpan.

Now the poll is open; The last day to participate in the survey is Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Responses to the survey are gathered from a diverse range of community members, and the contributions of large numbers of participants will help gain critical feedback that will help the city assess and most effectively meet society’s most pressing needs for social services. By participating in a needs assessment survey, community members will help shape social services programs in the city of West Hollywood for the next three years.

Over its 37-year history, the city of West Hollywood has provided millions of dollars in grants to fund programs that include services for the elderly; people living with HIV and AIDS; members of the LGBTQ community; families with children; people with disabilities; alcohol and drug recovery programs; programs to support Russian-speaking and other immigrants; services for people experiencing homelessness; food programs; and medical services for people who are not insured.

In the last year alone, urban social services programs run by nonprofit partner organizations have addressed the most important issues of today, including homelessness, food insecurity, substance abuse, and HIV / STI prevention and support, and provided more than 150,000 meals. older people and other vulnerable members of the community who would otherwise starve; housed 50 homeless people in stable housing; and helped many people who were out of work prepare for the job market.

The city of West Hollywood periodically conducts community surveys to determine social service priorities. Previous research has provided insight into community demographics; society’s needs for social services, including transport and housing; and reviews of life in West Hollywood.
