  • Total production for Q3 2022: 365,000

The deliveries are the closest Tesla has reported to sales and missed analysts’ expectations of 364,660 vehicles, according to estimates compiled by FactSet-owned Street Account.

Tesla also said in its report that the company produced 19,935 of its more expensive Model S and X vehicles and 345,988 of its more popular Model 3 and Y vehicles in the third quarter.

Total production was up from the previous quarter of 2022, when Tesla said it produced 258,580 vehicles.

Tesla reported shipments of 254,695 vehicles and production of 237,823 vehicles for last year’s quarter, including just 8,941 of the Model S and X, the company’s pricier sedans and falcon-door SUVs, respectively.

In the third quarter of 2022, Tesla faced a sharp rise in raw material prices, a change in management (with the notable departure of the leader of AI Andrei Karpaty in July) and growth issues at new plants in Germany and Texas.

Tesla has historically not disclosed the number of vehicles produced and delivered by region.

U July this year, Tesla was forced to temporarily suspend most of its factory production in Shanghai to carry out factory upgrades. By month Augusthowever, the company’s production and shipments to China have resumed, according to the China Automobile Association.

By September, executives, speaking at a general meeting with employees of the Nevada Gigafactory, celebrated new production records and praised the hard work of employees.

How This was previously reported by CNBCTesla executives said at the time that August was a record month for the Fremont plant in terms of production, and that Tesla’s relatively new plant in Austin, Texas, had reached a production rate of 1,000 cars per week on a seven-day basis, a promising milestone.
