The body was found in a parking lot off Thomaston Road in west Macon

The body of a man who was shot to death was found lying in the parking lot Friday morning of a vacant office building in western Bibb County, officials said.

The victim, who has not been identified as of yet, is believed to be in his 20s or 30s, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

The body was discovered shortly before 9:30 a.m. at 6211 Thomaston Road, the former home of Reaves Software, west of Price Road and near the south entrance to the Lake Wildwood subdivision.

Sheriff’s officials said in a statement that the death “occurred in the parking lot,” which is on a slight slope off Thomaston Road about a mile west of Interstate 475.

Additional details were not immediately available.

The victim was the county’s 66th homicide victim of 2022.
