The Dallas County School ISD has announced that head football coaches will have salary increases starting in the 2022-23 school year to “retain and attract” coaches.
In the future, the average salary of head football coaches in the Dallas ISD will be more than 122 thousand dollars with a salary range of 95 thousand dollars. That starting salary rose from $ 84,000 where it was before.
The school’s statement on salary adjustments states:
“After collecting data from other North Texas counties, the Dallas Athletics Department of ISD proposed a plan to adjust the current salary structure of the head coach.
As a result, the district provides a one-time salary adjustment to the current head football coach in the amount of $ 15,000 and adjusts the pay range for this position. Prospective candidates will be recruited on the basis of a revised salary range and current information. “
This decision will bring ISD schools in downtown Dallas closer to what coaches in the surrounding suburbs do as their coaches as they continue their mission to become the country’s main urban school district.
The move also comes after South Oak Cliff HS (Texas) and head coach Jason Todd captured their first-ever state title, as well as the first Dallas ISD title, dating back to 1958.
Over the past few years, pay for coaching at Georgia High School has largely led nationally. the number of coaches earning six-figure salaries more than doubled from 2015 to 2019from 17 to 44 coaches who have earned $ 100,000 or more during that time.
