The US won gold and silver in the Olympic monobob

Kaylee Humphries won her third Olympic gold medal and first in the United States

The former Canadian bobsledder easily won her first women’s monobob competition. This is the first sliding medal for the United States in seven competitions so far – four in sledding and two in skeleton – at the Beijing Games.

The second was American Elana Meers Taylor. It was the fourth medal in Meers Taylor’s career, the largest number of bobsleigh wins in U.S. history.

Humphreys also has four medals, the first three – in Canada. She started riding in the US in 2019 and received citizenship in December. This allowed her to represent the United States in Beijing.

The bronze was won by Canadian Christine de Bruin.
