Spotify Wrapped, the music streaming service’s viral marketing campaign, released its 2022 edition on Wednesday, November 30, giving users a look at their listening trends for the year.
But how to find it? Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Spotify Wrapped.
How do I find my Spotify Wrapped?
Your Spotify is packed is only available on the Spotify mobile app, which can be downloaded on Apple and Google devices.
When you pull up the Spotify app, you’ll get a notification that “Your 2022 Wrapped is ready.” Clicking on the wraparound graphic will allow you to see your personalized history for the year.
Wrapped was released on Wednesday, but it seemed to be slow. Some users reported that their Wrapped was not showing up, but some had it starting to show up by 9am ET.
What are the new features in Spotify Wrapped 2022?
In addition to past favorites—the best songs, artists, and favorite genres—Spotify users got a little more individual information in this year’s report.
In this year’s version, users will learn their own “Listener Personality”.
“We’re showcasing the 16 different types of listening personas that Spotify has created for 2022 Wrapped,” Spotify said. “Your Wrapped will showcase your listening personality based on how you’ve listened to music throughout the year.”
An additional feature called “Audio Day” will show “how your music taste has changed throughout the day.”
Who are the most streamed artists in 2022?
For the third year in a row, Bad Bunny is making an appearance the most popular artist in the world on Spotify. Taylor Swift, who released her highly anticipated album Midnights earlier this fall, became the No. 2 streamed artist.
Drake, The Weeknd and BTS rounded out the top 5.
What are the most streamed albums and songs?
Harry Styles’ “As It Was” became the most streamed song in the world in 2022. “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals came in at #2, followed by “STAY” by The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber, “Me Porto Bonito” by Bad Bunny featuring Chencho Corleone and “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny.
As for the most popular albums, Bad Bunny once again tops the list. His album “Un Verano Sin Ti” was #1 on Spotify’s annual chart.
Harry Styles’ ‘Harry’s House’ came in at number 2, with Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘SOUR’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘=’ and Dodge Cat’s ‘Planet Her’ rounding out the top 5.
When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking?
Spotify previously reported that Wrapped “only covers January 1st until October 31 for any year”.
This may explain why Swift’s album “Midnights” was not among the most popular albums of the year. “Midnights” was released on October 21, a few days before the release of Wrapped.
What is Spotify Instafest?
You may have seen personalized music festival schedules on social media in recent days. This is from a third-party app called Instafest, which is not directly affiliated with Spotify.
Instafest analyzes the listening tastes of users and curates a fake music festival with the artists who play the most.
“I just worked on it all day, finished it and put it online,” 20-year-old Anshay Szabo told SFGate.com. “And here we are for a week, and for some reason it’s just steadily grown exponentially over the last week. And we’ve had over six and a half million users of that app, and it’s growing fast, too.”
